Shapefront FAQ

Is Shapefront free?

Yes. Shapefront is free to play in your browser. Ads keep it free, and you choose whether they're personalized.

Do I need to download anything or create an account?

No. Shapefront runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. The single-player campaign needs no account, and your progress is saved locally in your browser. You only need to sign in for multiplayer and cloud saves.

What kind of game is it?

It's an auto-battler strategy game with visual programming. You don't control units during a fight. Before each battle you build strategies from drag-and-drop blocks, and your army follows them on its own. See How to Play for a full walkthrough.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Strategies are built from blocks like "charge the nearest enemy" or "if my health is below 50%, retreat". If you've used Scratch, it will feel familiar. If you haven't, the in-game tour gets you building in under a minute.

Which shape should I pick?

Any of them. Triangles beat squares, squares beat circles, and circles beat triangles. You'll recruit the other shapes as you win battles, so your first pick only shapes the opening of a run.

Is there luck in battles?

No. Battles are deterministic, so the same armies running the same strategies always produce the same result. If you lose, change the plan.

What happens if I lose a battle?

Your deployed army retreats home at half strength. Units you left on the bench are safe. You keep your territory and can regroup and try again.

What happens when I conquer the whole world?

Your army warps to a new, larger and tougher world, and you unlock a new Legendary command for your strategies. The campaign never ends.

What are cards and cores?

Cards are earned from the territories you hold, even while you're offline, and pay for strategy upgrades. Cores are rarer and recruit new units of any shape.

How does multiplayer work?

Multiplayer is asynchronous. You build a 20-unit PvP loadout, and when you challenge someone your army fights a snapshot of theirs. Our server resolves the battle with the same engine as the campaign, and you watch the replay. Wins and losses move you on a separate matchmaking ladder.

Will I lose my progress if I clear my browser data?

Single-player progress lives in your browser's storage, so clearing site data removes it. Signing in keeps an account profile synced to the cloud.

How do I delete my account?

Email support@bitlitic.com from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your account. This permanently removes your account and its server-side data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I change my ad preferences?

Go to Settings → Ad preferences. You can switch between personalized and non-personalized ads, or opt out of the "sale/sharing" of personal information.

I found a bug. Where do I report it?
